Authors A to Z - George MannGeorge Mann was born in Darlington, County Durham in 1978. He has been reading science fiction since he first managed to lay his hands on a copy of The War of the Worlds on his 11th birthday. He is the former editor of Outland magazine, writes an SF column for the internet and is the author of The Mammoth Encyclopedia of Science Fiction. He is currently putting the finishing touches to a new work of SF criticism. The Human Abstract is his first work of fiction. He now lives in Tamworth, Staffordshire, with his wife, cat and encroaching library, whilst continuing to manage a bookshop in Coventry.
