Authors A to Z - Stephen Laws
Stephen Laws was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1952. He began writing fiction at the age of eight and his debut novel, Ghost Train, was published 1985. Since then he has published a further ten novels: Spectre (1986), The Wyrm (1987), The Frighteners (1989), Darkfall (1992), Gideon (1993 - published in the US as Fear Me (2005)), Macabre (1994), Daemonic (1995), Somewhere South of Midnight (1996), Chasm (1998), and Ferocity (2007). His short stories have been collected in The Midnight Man and a shared collection (with Mark Morris) was published as Voyages into Darkness. A short story collaboration with Simon Clark, Annabel Says, was published by the British Fantasy Society. Gideon was winner of the Count Dracula Society Award for Best Vampire Novel, and his short story 'The Song My Sister Sang' won the British Fantasy Award for Best Short Story in 1999.
