![]() Introduction by Katy Manning
Deluxe edition frontispiece illustrated by Martin McKenna
But what of the mysterious and terrifying Nightdreamers? And of the Nightdreamer King? Background information:Telos Publishing presents the third in our series of original Doctor Who Novellas, Nightdreamers, an impressive fantasy/science fiction tale featuring the third Doctor and Jo Grant, it is written by Australian author Tom Arden, the acclaimed author of the The Orokon, a million-word, five volume sequence of novels. "I've always loved Doctor Who," said Tom, "and it was one of the influences on The Orokon, my five-volume fantasy series. To have the opportunity to take the third Doctor and Jo off on an adventure of my own creation was a superb experience." Frontispiece artist Martin McKenna has been a great fan of Doctor Who from an early age. "The gothic horror era of Tom Baker was particularly influential and inspiring for my later work," he explains. "Now at last I have my first chance to produce some artwork for a Doctor Who publication!"
Both editions featured a foreword by Katy Manning, the actress who played the Doctor's companion Jo Grant in the television series. All copies of the limited edition deluxe version came individually signed by the author, frontispiece artist and foreword writer. Nightdreamers was published on the 15th May 2002
